Christchurch Airport remains open
Christchurch Airport remains open.
Snow is still falling gently and we continue to clear the runway.
We have had some domestic flights land and the first international flight to land today did so at 2.15 – that was an Emirates flight from Dubai, via Sydney.
We experienced a major power spike which left us without mains power and generator for approximately an hour, but power has been fully restored.
There have been changes to domestic and international flight timetables during the day, so it is essential travellers check with their airlines before coming to the airport.
