Hospitality Industry Salutes Britomart Venues at 2012 Lewisham Awards
Six of the prestigious Lewisham Awards for 2012 have been awarded to people and businesses based at Britomart. The wins further signaling the precinct as the major player in Auckland’s hospitality industry.

Now in their tenth year, the Lewisham Awards are widely regarded as the industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. Awarded by their peers, they are recognition for those individuals and establishments, which are leading the way in the New Zealand hospitality industry.
“We couldn’t be prouder of the success of the Britomart businesses. We all work incredibly hard to offer a great experience to those who visit our bars and restaurants and to have the industry recognize that is the ultimate accolade,” says Mimi Gilmour, winner of Outstanding Restaurateur.
The Britomart development is constantly evolving and improving with new hospitality and retail offerings opening all the time. As well as welcoming thousands of Auckland residents and overseas visitors through its doors each week, it is now also attracting the country’s most passionate and talented hospitality workers. Flying in the face of a deep economic recession, Britomart’s businesses are continuing to boom, further validation of their international appeal.
“We are constantly striving to improve the experience for all our guests, with the best in service, food, drinks and a wide variety of entertainment. These awards have given us even more determination to make Britomart a world class destination not only in New Zealand, but rivaling the best on offer in Australia too,” says Gilmour.
It’s not the first time Britomart venues have done well at the Lewishams, over the past three years the awards have recognized other Britomart businesses including Café Hanoi, 1885, Racket Bar and Agents and Merchants.
