Organic skincare company helps feed
kiwis in need this winter.
NZ Skincare Company, manufacturers of certified organic skincare range, geoskincare, will help NZ families this winter by supporting the work of The Salvation Army.
The Hamilton-based company will donate one dollar for every geoskincare product sold at participating stockists through July and August 2012 to The Salvation Army food bank.
Company founder, Penny Vergeest, hopes the donation will help to ensure more kiwi families have access to nourishing meals this winter.
“Being an ethical company, we’re always looking for ways to give back to the community. We understand that winter can be a tough time for many NZ families, so we hope that our contribution helps take the pressure off some fellow New Zealanders this winter,” she says.
geoskincare is made locally from natural minerals, essential oils and pure extracts, and is available in pharmacies, beauty salons and health stores nationwide. The entire range is certified organic by NZ’s leading certifier Biogro.
NZ Skincare Company will also donate $1 for every geoskincare product sold on its website through July and August 2012 to The Salvation Army food bank.
Salvation Army welfare services are continuing to deal with the rising costs of the recession, Christchurch earthquakes and increasing client referrals from Government agencies.
The Salvation Army Secretary for Social Services Major Pam Waugh says the support of New Zealanders has always been an essential agreement of the Army’s social services and this backing will be crucial throughout the winter.
“We see New Zealand businesses as equal partners in the work we do in our most deprived neighbourhoods,” Major Waugh says.
As well as providing individuals and families with food parcels and immediate support, The Salvation Army also assists with long-term services including budgeting advice, counselling, life skills coaching, social work, transitional housing programmes, and practical needs-based services.
