2012 NZSA-ETITO Security Industry Awards

22 June 2012

Entry Open for Awards Recognising Excellence in New Zealand Security Industry

Entries are now open for the 2012 NZSA-ETITO Security Industry Awards.

The awards are an opportunity for the security industry to recognise and promote excellence among New Zealand security companies.

ETITO, the industry training organisation for the security industry, and the New Zealand Security Association [NZSA] are partnering for the second year to present awards at the annual New Zealand Security Industry Conference to be held in Auckland in August.

The awards across five categories recognise the work of individuals and firms. They are:

• Security Officer of the Year
• Security Trainee of the Year
• Security Personality of the Year
• Workplace Assessor of the Year
• Registered Training Workplace of the Year.

The winners will be announced at the NZSA-ETITO Awards Dinner at the NZ Security Industry Conference in Auckland on Thursday 23 August 2012. Winners will receive trophies, certificates and prizes of more than $500 in each category.

ETITO Chief Executive Garry Fissenden says the opportunity for the industry to showcase their leaders and top-performers is one ETITO is proud to be involved in. “The awards present an ideal platform for the security industry to acknowledge those in the industry who have gone the extra yard, both in terms of time and effort,” says Garry.

NZSA Executive Officer Greg Watts says that after the success of the 2011 awards and the calibre of the nominations received there is much to look forward to in 2012. “With the awards being refreshed last year and the continuing effort of those in the security industry to invest and support their staff I know the award winners will be of the highest quality and a real example for the rest of the industry to follow.”

Entry information is now available on the NZSA and ETITO websites. Nominations close at 5pm, Thursday 26 July. Visit: www.security.org.nz or www.etito.co.nz
