WesternBay@Work 2012 launches with Business and Career Showcase at TECT Arena
The diverse range of career and training opportunities available in the Bay will go on display in a showcase two-day event at TECT Arena at the end of July. The Tauranga Rotary Careers Expo and Priority One FutureFocus Business Showcase will allow students and adults alike to see the careers available now and in the future in this region and connect with the right training organisations.
Western Bay @ Work Project Manager Lyn Parlane says this event is the result of the collaboration between local organisations who share the vision of the Western Bay of Plenty as a vibrant region, offering great opportunities for training and careers now and in the future.
The event is also the launch for Western Bay at Work – the annual month long showcase of local career and training opportunities, which this year runs from Thursday July 26th through to Friday August 24th. This year’s Ambassador is Jen Scoular – CEO of the Avocado Growers Association
‘I am delighted to accept the role as Ambassador for WesternBay@work, and fully support the theme of connecting and collaborating; two areas I believe make a real difference’. says Jen Scoular. ‘I fully support the work being done to continue to attract and retain employers, employees and students to this beautiful high growth region’.
Western Bay @ Work showcases the diversity of career and training opportunities in this vibrant region. WB@W month provides students and adults at all ages of their working life opportunities to explore their career options and connect with local businesses and training and career development organisations. This year the month has a particular emphasis on personal and business growth through collaboration.
