Best Design Awards 2012 - Thank you to all entrants

The Best Design Awards call for entries have now closed for 2012.

We thank all studios, big and small, who have contributed to making the Best Design Awards another successful year. Despite the website timing out last Friday, due to the sheer volume of entries, there have been a stunning 760 entries submitted....!! In 2013 we promise you won't receive any 504s so you'll be able to enjoy the excitement of the deadline with complete ease - we know you guys love leaving entries to the last minute.

It is pleasing to see a marked increase in student entries and that there are new studios who have entered from across all disciplines. We are proud to support new and growing studios.

We're thrilled that the introduction of two awards this year, Best Effect and Nga Aho, have extremely strong submissions and that show the diversity of design practise in New Zealand.

Next on the calendar is to prepare for judging week. But more detail on that next week.

The awards night is at the Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland, so if you're planning to PARTY at Best on the 5th October get in quick for those cheap airfares.
