mia to distribute WWE mobile content in Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, Australia, 24 July 2012: Leading mobile solutions provider mia has announced a distribution agreement to deliver WWE content to mobile devices in Australia and New Zealand.

The WWE content, including videos, images, ringtones and mobile greetings, will be delivered using mia’s Sphere, an advanced digital platform that manages the hosting and delivery of content. It uses advanced logic to deliver an optimised experience to each customer. The platform is already used by high profile carriers and content providers, including Vodafone and EA Games.

Jon Mooney, chief operating officer of mia, believes it has been chosen because of its winning approach to content delivery, supporting multiple devices from a single distribution platform. “In our game, we like to think we’ve already knocked the competitors out of the ring!”

As well as optimising delivery, Sphere will ensure that WWE content is available to all customers, irrespective of their carrier. In most cases the user will also be able to purchase directly from the WWE site and have the charge appear on their mobile bill.

“Our agreement to deliver WWE content here is an indication of the reliability of our product and focus on providing the best customer experience,” Mooney said. “With direct carrier billing we can optimise sales and simplify the process for consumers, who no longer need to login or use a credit card when they choose to watch some of the world’s greatest professional wrestling matches.”
