Gen-i expands cloud capabilities with ReadyCloud Server

Auckland, 25 July 2012 – Gen-i today announced the launch of its enhanced ReadyCloud Server, Gen-i’s virtual compute and storage product and part of its ReadyCloud Services suite of Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions.

Leanne Buer, Gen-i Head of Networked ICT Products, says the rollout of new mobile and fibre networks across New Zealand has increased interest in Gen-i’s ReadyCloud solutions as clients look for help to deliver the applications and services that exploit these new capabilities.

She explained that ReadyCloud Server provides businesses with highly reliable cloud capabilities and new self-service and flexible pricing options that offer excellent value for money, in addition to secure integration with existing networks and cloud services.

“ReadyCloud Server now provides a self-service portal that enables clients to easily manage their virtual data centres and flexible pricing bundles so clients only pay for what they need to meet fluctuating business demands. Clients can focus on their core business while benefiting from the increased efficiency, productivity and excellent value that our cloud solution enables,” she said.

“ReadyCloud Server is hosted locally in a world class data centre, which is co-located in Telecom’s Auckland Exchange building, providing clients with the assurance that their infrastructure is resilient, reliable and secure, and supported by staff here in New Zealand,” said Buer.

“Gen-i’s strength lies in integrating its cloud services with existing ICT infrastructures and other cloud services, to provide clients with the right mix of technology solutions and maximise their existing ICT investments,” said Buer.

“We work closely with our clients and use our Pathway to Cloud assessment process to identify the best path of migration to reduce complexity when moving to a cloud environment.”

Greg Mikkelsen, Acting CEO of Gen-i Australasia, says enabling clients to access cloud computing to increase productivity, deliver flexibility and robustness, and cut costs will create growth opportunities for New Zealand businesses.

“Gen-i delivers fully integrated cloud solutions built from the best global public cloud, local private cloud and on-site hybrid solutions. Our solutions are implemented, integrated and managed in New Zealand and backed by a team of local experts who are here to drive the right outcomes and help clients grow their businesses,” said Mikkelsen.

“Our clients look to us to reduce the complexity of IT integration and deliver real benefit for business. We’re committed to delivering tailored ICT solutions that provide clients with end to end value that they can trust.”
