Jetstar Olympic Sale Fares Sell In Record Time
Jetstar today offered 1560 $12 fares on selected routes across its domestic New Zealand network to mark the record haul of medals the Kiwi Olympic team snared at the London Games.
In the lead up to the Games, Jetstar announced it would offer 120 fares at $12 for every medal the Kiwi team took home.
At the London Games, members of
the Kiwi Olympic team were awarded 13 medals including six
gold, equalling the previous record at the 1988 Games in
Seoul.
Auckland – Christchurch and Auckland –
Wellington were the most popular routes and all 1560 fares
were sold within two hours.
Jetstar’s Olympic sale was via the airline’s Facebook account and its JetMail customer newsletter.
Jetstar is also providing travel support for the New Zealand Olympic Team as they share their success with Kiwis in a special Welcome Home Tour on Friday 24 August in Christchurch. A Jetstar aircraft featuring the New Zealand Olympic logo will fly team members from Auckland to Christchurch for the celebration in Hagley Park.
