Indigenous NZ Cuisine Cluster to Host Hong Kong VIPS
22 of New Zealand's finest Maori owned food and beverage producers have joined together to collectively market and sell their products in NZ and off-shore under the Indigenous NZ banner. The cluster was officially launched on the 30th July 2012 in Auckland by The Minister of Maori affairs, Hon Dr Pita R Sharples CBE.
Since the clusters formation, it has gained considerable exposure and interest by media and buyers in Asia and NZ.
Next week, on the 24th September the cuisine cluster has been selected to host 15 Business VIP's from Hong Kong including some of Honk Kong's largest logistics food and wine distributors (see attached list).
Awataha Marae on the North Shore Auckland will be the venue for the occasion and cuisine cluster members will enjoy presentations from the delegates and an opportunity to showcase their products.
The Indigenous NZ Cuisine Cluster was initiated by the Poutama Trust, an independent charitable trust established in 1988 to provide business enabling services to Maori.
Interest in the collective is
strong amongst producers with new suppliers making contact
on a weekly basis. The project is being managed for Poutama
by Marketing and Sales consultant Lucy Cruickshank from
Innov8 Aotearoa.
