Huawei to Partner All Whites in China

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Huawei to Partner All Whites in China

Huawei New Zealand is proud to announce its partnership with the All Whites for their international friendly football match with China, to take place in Shanghai on November 14.

The match takes place as part of celebrations being held to mark 40 years of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and China.

“It is very exciting for us to partner with the All Whites, who have achieved such great success recently. It is also a privilege to be part of an event which celebrates the deep ties between New Zealand and China,” Huawei NZ CEO Arthur Zhang said.

The relationship between New Zealand and China has grown immensely over those past 40 years with links spanning politics, business, trade, sport and culture.

Huawei’s ties to New Zealand have also grown in recent years. Huawei now partners with all major telecommunications providers in New Zealand, and is helping to roll out the next generation of broadband networks through the UFB and RBI projects.

“These projects are a huge part of New Zealand’s economic and cultural future, supporting the way we trade and communicate with each other and with the rest of the world, and our role in delivering this infrustructure reflects Huawei’s ongoing commitment to New Zealand,” Mr Zhang said.

Huawei has been active in promoting New Zealand internationally. A delegation of procurement executives was hosted on a tour of local businesses during March this year. The visit was followed by the August announcement of a US$56 million component supply contract with New Zealand technology manufacturer Rakon. At the signing Huawei signalled its intention to continue actively seeking opportunties and partnerships with innovative New Zealand companies.
