Travel broker named as Training Ambassador

Travel broker named as Training Ambassador

A leading Travel Broker’s commitment to helping trainees throughout the country gain their qualifications has been recognised with an ATTTO Travel Ambassador Award.

Ian Braithwaite, who as well as running a busy travel brokerage business is also a workplace assessor with New Zealand Travel Brokers was presented with the award last week. He has worked with more than 30 self-employed travel brokers over the past year to help them gain their Level 3 accelerator Travel and Tourism certificate.

ATTTO Training Ambassador Awards are awarded annually to individuals or teams from all of our sectors who live and breathe learning and development.

Ian was presented with the award, a greenstone sculpture of the double twist, which means the ‘unity of groups’ by ATTTO Trainee Support Adviser Jenny Osborn.

The award reflects the dual role of training ambassadors – bringing people together within the workplace and the sector to achieve a common and unified standard of learning and qualifications.

ATTTO Chief Executive Kathy Wolfe, said: “Ian’s easy going nature and warm friendly approachable personality has helped him cement a long lasting relationship between NZ Travel Brokers and ATTTO.

“His professional attitude and helpful nature has played an integral part in helping so many trainees successfully complete their qualifications.

“Working with Jenny, his ATTTO trainee mentor, Ian dedicated many hours outside of his normal hectic travel broker business to mentor, support, follow up, assess and report credits.

“Ian’s patient perseverance with the trainees and unfaltering enthusiasm for ATTTO’s Travel Training Accelerator Programme ensured a successful outcome.

“Ian continues to work beyond his call of duty regarding training of his colleagues in NZ Travel Brokers. “
