Choice win for Albany family
Choice win for Albany family
One Choice Privileges member and his family are
the lucky new owners of a brand new Suzuki Swift Sport.
Asheq Rahman of Albany drove away in a racy blue Swift Sport after it was presented to him at Metropolis Clarion Collection this afternoon. Asheq was the New Zealand winner of Choice Hotels’ ‘Win a Car’ competition through their ‘Choice Privileges’ loyalty programme. The competition ran in both Australia and New Zealand from September until the 30th November.
The competition gave all new and existing Choice Privileges members the chance to win the Suzuki Swift Sport valued at $27,500. All new guests who signed up for a Choice Privileges membership and existing members who made a booking in October or November were automatically entered in the draw.
Asheq’s name was drawn from thousands of entries and he says he thought it “was a joke” when he was told the news.
“I thought it had to be someone kidding around; the news is still sinking in,” he says. “This is a wonderful way to close the year for us, we feel like luck is really on our side.”
The win comes at a perfect time for Asheq who was looking to replace his car soon. However, he says they are still deciding what they will do with their brand new Suzuki.
“There are three of us in the family who drive with my youngest starting soon, so we may share it around, but it is really too early to decide,” he says.
The Massey University lecturer and father of three joined Choice Privileges when he first discovered Choice Hotels’ properties on a family trip to the United States earlier this year.
“We stayed in a Choice Hotel near Times Square when we first arrived in the US and then stayed in many Choice Hotels on our trip across America,” he says.
As an existing Choice Privileges member, Asheq was automatically entered into the draw when the competition launched in September.
Choice Hotels General Manager Sales & Marketing, Aileen Cobern, says it was very exciting to hand the keys over today.
“It’s great to be able to reward one of
our guests with this fantastic early Christmas present,”
she says. “We were all so happy to see Asheq drive off and
we hope him and his family enjoy this fabulous car. We’re
delighted so many New Zealanders signed up to our Choice
Privileges loyalty programme and look forward to sharing the
rewards with them soon.”
