Welcome to the February 14 BNZ Weekly Overview
This week's Overview is a lot shorter than usual due to work on the two monthly surveys plus a visit to Christchurch and preparation of a new monthly publication for next Monday. Data releases in NZ thankfully have been scant outside our surveys with just REINZ housing data confirming market strength, and debit and credit card spending showing retailing activity picking up - hence upward pressure on wholesale interest rates and the NZ dollar yet again.
