RE/MAX Elite Nelson Shines Again Despite Challenging Real Estate Market

Nelson RE/MAX Elite salesperson Nina James has been awarded the position of top South Island performer for the month of February 2013, just two short years since commencing her career in real estate.

The news has come on the back of RE/MAX Elite broker and owner Kate Bradley being awarded the title of International Broker/Owner of the Year Single Office, at the international awards ceremony in Las Vegas earlier this month, which was contended for by RE/MAX brokers from all around the world.

Ms Bradley says Nina James’ placing is a major achievement for the local real estate agency given her recent entry to the industry.

“Nina’s achievement is well deserved and she should feel immensely proud of her efforts. Despite the Nelson market becoming more challenging, Nina has consistently placed in the top five performance rankings since she started selling real estate two years ago, and her number one placing is another reflection of the dedication and integrity she portrays in all aspects of her work,” says Ms Bradley.

REINZ (Real Estate Institute of New Zealand) Chief Executive, Helen O’Sullivan confirms the challenging environment for Nelson real estate salespeople in a recent report.

“The Nelson market has become more challenging with vendors sticking to price expectations and buyers generally being prepared to wait. Buyers remain active in the market and a continuing shortage of listings further complicates the picture,” says Ms O’Sullivan.

Chris Chapman, Director at RE/MAX New Zealand, says Ms James’ ranking is exceptional given the market constraints.

“Real estate as a profession is highly competitive and Nina’s results show her ability to apply the right skills, and a good mind-set, to get results for her clients.”
