Launching May 1st, 2013 – on Sky Channel 081


This month, Sky TV’s premium channel ‘Country99TV’ announces a new home, a new name and new themed evenings.

Effective May 1st, Country99TV becomes Country TV with dedicated theme nights, available on Sky channel 081.

This premium channel available as a paid for subscriber service, will dedicate each evening to a specific aspect of the rural sector. Including lifestyle, news, agri-business, equestrian and entertainment programmes – Country TV will also continue to offer their premium weather news service which is widely regarded by the rural sector as New Zealand’s most comprehensive weather service!

“With our themed evenings, viewers can enjoy a number of programmes that are focused on their specific interests. Instead of the viewer having to plan around the channel’s programming they can now pop in one night a week (or several) and watch multiple shows covering one aspect of the country lifestyle that they love.”, says David Rose, Country TV CEO.

Country TV’s May programming highlights include:

Vintage NZ Farm Machinery
This new series premieres Wednesday May 8, 7.30pm. Exploring the origins of the machines, tools and equipment used to work the land throughout New Zealand, from horse-drawn ploughs to historic tractors.

Exclusive Coverage of the FEI World Cup Jumping Finals
The taking of the prestigious Rolex FEI World Cup crown has been a defining moment in the careers of many of the greatest horse-and-rider combinations in the history of the sport of international Jumping. It’s the one they all want to win…and you can view it exclusively on Country TV Tuesday May 14, 7.30pm
