Certus expands Business Analytics and Information Management

17 April, 2013

Certus restructures and expands its Business Analytics and Information Management divisions

Certus Solutions, Australasia’s largest pure play IBM software and services company, has announced a significant business restructure, splitting the management of two lines - Business Analytics (BA) and Information Management (IM) - as a result of significant growth in both areas.

Tom Reich, Certus General Manager - Information Management and Business Analytics, said: “These changes have been designed to adapt to the rapidly changing market dynamics and the growing solution portfolio IBM provides in both Business Analytics and Information Management.”

Two new appointments have been made to lead the business lines - Julien Redmond as General Manager, Information Management and Dannielle Nguyen as General Manager, Business Analytics.

“Though Information Management and Business Analytics do often go hand in hand, they now need to be managed as two very distinct offerings due to their increasing complexity. Analytics isn’t just about business intelligence, reporting and analysis for finance, operations and sales functions any more. For example, we are now providing predictive and social analytics for marketing departments,” said Reich.

“Information Management is no longer just data warehousing and data management. Now it’s all about big data and information governance as well as data quality,” continued Reich.

Julien Redmond has been promoted to General Manager, Information Management after four years with the company as Business Development Manager. During that time he was instrumental in the formation of Certus’ IM practice in Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland.

With his new role, Julien has responsibility for the continued growth and success of the Certus IM division across Australia and New Zealand. With more than a decade of experience in his field, Julien will provide IM thought leadership and a focus on delivering quality solutions and outcomes for his clients.

Dannielle Nguyen joins Certus as its General Manager, Business Analytics with over 16 years’ experience in the ICT and business environment. Most recently she was Client Executive at Tridant, focusing on services and software sales. Prior to that, Dannielle worked for Certus as its Canberra branch manager where she was instrumental in growing its Business Intelligence and Planning practice.

Dannielle will be responsible for the growth, profit and general health of the BA division across Australia and New Zealand. She will also own the BA brand relationship with IBM in this dynamic and expanding market.

Brian Allen, Certus CEO, said: “Appointing two specialists, with great track records, and their fingers on the pulse, is an important move. It will ensure both divisions have the required management, planning and execution experience for their continued growth and success, under the expert stewardship of Tom Reich.”
