Confide Appoints Senior Security Consultant

Confide Limited, the information security company that provides assistance and solutions to help merchants through New Zealand comply with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards (PCI DSS) has appointed Dean Carter as it Senior Security Consultant in Auckland.

His appointment coincides with Confide opening an office in Auckland to better service Confide’s clients in that city and nationwide clients who operate in Auckland.

Dean joins Confide from Lateral Security, where he was Security Consulting Manager and responsible for their Auckland operation. Prior to that, he had senior roles in IT security with ASB Bank and Security-Assessment.com.

Dean has over 20 years IT experience, with more than 10 years specifically focused on information security. He has provided risk, compliance, architecture and design advice to a number of flagship New Zealand organisations within industries including telecommunications, finance, hospitality, media, utilities and government.

Confide’s managing director Steve Brooky said, “Dean’s appointment brings the number of Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) in the company to three, and enabled us to establish a strong presence in Auckland. He has extensive experience in security, particularly in relation to the Payment Card Industry. As a QSA, Dean is qualified to audit merchants for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Compliance.

In addition to being a Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA), Dean has a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
