New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) has appointed David Downs as General Manager Services and Quentin Quin as General Manager Capital. Both are based in Auckland.

David is responsible for helping businesses build capability and productivity through the delivery of NZTE products and services, including Better by Design and Beachheads.

David joined NZTE in 2011 as a Customer Director, managing a team of business advisors who assist New Zealand companies to grow and diversify into overseas markets.

Prior to joining NZTE, David spent 12 years working for Microsoft New Zealand, where he held a number of roles, such as Director, Professional Services for South East Asia.

David’s achievements during his time at Microsoft include being awarded the prestigious ‘Chairman’s Award’ by Bill Gates and growing revenue in emerging markets in Asia by over 50 percent through targeted sales and territory management.

Quentin is responsible for promoting business opportunities to targeted international investors and facilitating high quality investment based on New Zealand’s competitive advantage. He is also responsible for improving the capability of New Zealand businesses to plan and prepare for raising and managing capital.

Prior to joining NZTE, Quentin worked as a Senior Investment Manager with the World Bank Group based in Sydney, specialising in agribusiness and working across Asia.
