FGC welcomes health and safety report
The NZ Food and Grocery Council welcomes the report of the Independent Taskforce on Workplace Health and Safety.
Chief Executive Katherine Rich says the report makes some timely recommendations about how New Zealand can improve its workplace safety record.
"Within the grocery sector, the number of reported accidents has been falling during the past few years, but there is no room for complacency.
"More can be done to improve the implementation of health and safety on the front line, and that's why FGC's Health & Safety Working Group has been focusing on issues such as carton weights, forklift use, and encouraging good practice in all the working environments that members’ staff work in."
