Businesses getting extra cash in their pockets

8 May 2013

Press Release: How New Zealand businesses are getting extra cash in their pockets.

The New Zealand Industrial Fuel Duty Agency (NZIFDA) is helping New Zealand businesses nationwide get some extra cash in their pockets.

Excise duty tax is built into fuel costs to help with the upkeep of NZ roads therefore if businesses are using fuel for off road purposes they will be entitled to a fuel duty refund.

In January 2013 NZIFDA invested $120,000 in a three month campaign to inform and assist businesses who are entitled to tax back on their fuel.

In this period NZIFDA contacted 5,000 businesses nationwide and found that only 10% of eligible businesses are claiming for this refund. The average refund identified was approximately $2000.

Most businesses were not aware they were entitled to an off-road fuel duty refund.

NZIFDA hires people from all over New Zealand in a home based work environment. NZIFDA are a family friendly and ‘green thinking’ organisation and by opting for this type of workplace means they have less impact on the environment and reduce their carbon footprint.

More information can be found online at the NZIFDA website, www.nzifda.org.
