CEO of NZOG shared his experiences over breakfast.
Andrew Knight, CEO of New Zealand Oil and Gas shared the experiences of his journey full of challenges and opportunities that led him to where he is today – CEO at the age of 43 - with the AUT Breakfast Club yesterday.
He addressed a room full of AUT students, alumni and staff members where he stressed the importance of values as core of doing business. Andrew believes that knowing yourself and your values are the key aspect of leadership. And it is these values that make New Zealand companies different from the rest.
Andrew spoke very passionately about living in New Zealand and contributing to its progress besides cost disadvantages in comparison to other international markets. His working techniques are very simple but effective - having the right people for the right tasks and leading through trust and confidence in people.
The CEO of NZOG concluded the session by advising the audience about the importance of seeing failure as an opportunity to learn in order to take risks in the first place. In his experience, we learn more from our failures than successes.
The next Breakfast Club event will be held on Tuesday 28 May 2013 at the Auckland University of Technology, and it is open to the public.
