Blanket Bay re-launches Honeymoon Package on film

Luxury hideaway Blanket Bay in Glenorchy has re-launched its ‘Ultimate Alpine Honeymoon Package’, with off-season and shoulder season prizes fixed at 2011 rates.

At the same time, the romance experience is being promoted in a new Blanket Bay video that gives viewers a taste of what they can expect.

The two-minute film is one of four promotional online videos that showcase the five-star, exclusive lodge under the four categories of ambience (accommodation), romance, cuisine and fun (experiences).

The property’s long-standing General Manager Philip Jenkins said the videos’ quality and cinematography fitted the brand.

“These are first-class, beautifully-shot films that provide a visual impression of the level of service and exclusivity guests experience at Blanket Bay.”

That “luxury experience” saw the lodge take the title of New Zealand’s number one hideaway as well as 6th in the world in Andrew Harper’s prestigious Hideaway Report last year.

“Accolades such as these are a wonderful recognition of the great service, beautiful setting and intimate feel of the lodge,” said Mr Jenkins.

“It’s not hard to see why the Honeymoon Package is so popular.

“Couples love the intimate fire-side moments, fine dining and spa facilities, which are part of our all-inclusive, five-star service, all set in spectacular alpine scenery.”

Mr Jenkins said the launch of the videos was well-timed to publicise Blanket Bay’s 2013-2014 packages, such as the Ultimate Alpine Honeymoon Package.

At the conclusion of the romance video, viewers will automatically land on the Honeymoon Package page, in the same way as the other three promotional videos do.

The Ultimate Alpine Honeymoon Package includes five nights in a luxury lodge or chalet suite which have views of Lake Wakatipu and the peaks of the Humboldt Range.

Guests also enjoy fresh flowers and Amisfield Methode Traditionelle sparkling wine on arrival, daily breakfast, pre-dinner cocktails, five-course dinner in a choice of locations, such as the Wine Cave, plus access to a wide range of facilities at the lodge in the all-inclusive tariff. Mr Jenkins explained that clients would be helicoptered to a spectacular mountaintop location overlooking Lake Wakatipu for a private gourmet champagne picnic.

Location choices include Lake Isobel, Sleepy Hollow, Hanging Rock, Emerald Tarn and the top of the spectacular Humboldt Range.

“They are then left alone to enjoy the gourmet hamper, waltz to a melody on the wind-up gramophone or simply lie back and absorb the scenery,” he said.
