New Crown Minerals Regime comes into force
From today, the new regime governing the allocation and management of petroleum and minerals permits comes into effect.
The amended Crown Minerals Act regime is designed to:
- encourage the development of Crown-owned oil, gas and mineral resources
- streamline the regime where appropriate and make it better able to deal with future developments
- ensure there is better coordination between regulatory agencies to support high health and safety and environmental standards throughout the full cycle of resource development
