Kate McGavin Joins Accentuate as Marketing Communications Associate

Wellington, New Zealand: Wellington public relations consultancy Accentuate+ Public Relations (Accentuate) today announced that Kate McGavin has joined the company as their Marketing Communications Associate.

Accentuate principal Rob McGregor said, “Kate and I worked together for some ten years previously. She was a foundation shareholder of our previous company, before leaving to take maternity leave. An experienced public relations consultant, she is passionate about marketing communications which adds a further dimension to Accentuate’s service offering.”

Kate specialises in marketing communications, event management, media relations, and editorial development. She has been responsible for the oversight of clients in hospitality, healthcare, fashion, real estate and property development, and the voluntary sector where she has worked with both Te Omanga Hospice and Skylight Trust.

Most recently, Kate worked with Wellington-based LED lighting solutions provider Ecopoint as their marketing & communications manager. Kate has a BA majoring in Art History and Sociology from Victoria University of Wellington, and studied public relations at Massey University (Wellington).

Rob McGregor said, “Being able to bring Kate onboard once again provides Accentuate with the capacity to grow the business and offer a more comprehensive service to public and private companies, and the not-for-profit/voluntary organisations which she specialises in working with.

“With the economy and confidence strengthening, businesses are looking to better differentiate themselves and improve their competitive advantage by increasing their public relations budgets. It is the perfect time to add the skills and expertise that Kate has to our team.”
