Grand new opening for Delmonico’s Bistro and Wine Bar

Grand new opening for Delmonico’s Bistro and Wine Bar with Chef Pip Andrews and Restaurant Manager Karl Ortquist.

Pip Andrews has worked alongside of some of the most well known chefs in New Zealand including Al Brown from Logan and Brown, Rex Morgan at Citron and Simon Gault at  Shed 5.

She now brings her talents and exciting dishes to the opening of Hawke’s Bay’s Delmonico’s Bistro and Wine Bar in Napier.

Pip’s favourite dishes include anything dealing with seafood, using classic French techniques combined with Asian and Mediterranean flavours.

Some of the signature dishes being produced for Delmonico’s include;

Cider and Sumac infused Pork Belly with skin crackled off on top nestled on parsnip puree, wilted spinach and a prune & red wine jus.

A Trio of Hawkes Bay lamb cooked three different ways using different cuts of meat these include: lambs fry, herb crusted sweet breads and oven baked Chimmichurri marinated lamb rump.

Citrus smoked salmon nestled on a sweet corn and crabmeat risotto finished with Gremolata and smoked paprika oil.

Pip  and her team believe,  that simple, tasty, but eye catching desserts showing clean lines is the way to go in tempting the customer to have that last course.

Her passion is hospitality, but it is the kitchen that gives her the greatest enjoyment. Along with watching and helping staff, reach their full potential.

Pip and her team have designed the Tennyson Muse with theatre customers in mind. This allows customers to have a two course meal with a beverage for a set price and make their show.

They can either have an entree and main with a beverage, or go main and dessert with a beverage.

If customers don't make the dessert course before their show then they can come back after and have it.

Restaurant Manager Karl Ortquist, a born and bred Napierite with 25 years of hospitality experience also joins the team,

He is from the old school genre of training through to the fresh and funky ways of today offering excellent customer service.

Karl’s experience has been gathered from cafes, bars and nightclubs all over New Zealand, however he has gained experience overseas as well working in Germany, Hawaii and Samoa.

You will recognize his smiley face from Porto Bistro, Med @ The Masonic, Chambers Restaurant and the NZ Wine Centre.

We welcome diners to come and experience Delmonico’s and what the team has to offer.

Delmonico’s Bistro and Wine Bar is situated at the Viceroy Hotel in Tennyson Street Napier.
