Tip Top® Teams Up With NRL
Kiwi favourite Tip Top® Bakery has kicked off a new partnership with the NRL and launched its first ever on-pack player cards collection promotion.
Just under three million cards can be found in selected packs of Tip Top® bread during the 13 week campaign from late May, including five Warrior player cards: Simon Mannering, Kevin Locke, Shaun Johnson, Ben Matalino and Feleti Mateo.
General Manager Marketing Tip Top® Bakery, Sandra Geange, says: “Kiwi kids will love collecting and swapping the NRL player cards – plus they will be getting the nourishment they need to succeed in the classroom and on the sports field, when they have Tip Top® bread in their lunchboxes.”
“The NRL players are some of the world’s most elite athletes and make excellent role models for Kiwi kids, so we hope the Tip Top® NRL collector cards will be both fun and inspirational.”
The 51 card collector series includes 16 NRL club cards and 35 individual player cards – comprising two players per club, with an additional three players for the Warriors – and feature action photos plus key career statistics.
With temporarily redesigned packaging to showcase the NRL tie-up, five Tip Top® SKUs, including: White Sandwich, White Toast, White Superthick, Honeygrain Toast and Multigrain Toast will feature a bright green rugby league field with superimposed images of the football player cards to create eye-catching stand-out on shelf.
Promotional support includes in-store POS, radio competition ticket giveaways to upcoming games on More FM, Mai FM and The Edge and a Sunday morning studio game show for kids across five weeks on What Now.
Earlier this year, Tip Top launched a long-term Programme called Nourish Our Kids, in partnership with the KidsCan Charitable Trust, which aims to address child hunger in New Zealand. As part of the Programme, Tip Top Bakery is donating and delivering 100,000 loaves of bread to decile one to four schools each year across the country – some of which will include the NRL player collector cards promotion.
