Setting the record straight about taxi cameras
Press Release

Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd - Setting
the record straight about taxi cameras
Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd is one of the world's leading suppliers of video surveillance products and solutions.
Recently, security cameras installed in taxis in Auckland and Christchurch have been found to be defective, failing to record assaults on drivers. This week, various media reports have alleged that these faulty cameras were a Hikvision product.
These media reports are incorrect.
Subsequent investigations on behalf of Hikvision have established that the products are not Hikvision products. The defective products were apparently distributed by a Mr Yueyintang (Eric) Leng, and not by Hikvision or Hikvision's authorised New Zealand distributor Atlas Gentech NZ Limited.
Hikvision takes this opportunity to assure its customers and prospective customers that it stands behind its products which are of the highest quality.
In the meantime, Hikvision's lawyers have been in contact with the relevant media organisations requesting that the record be corrected.
