Tourism Australia Announces New Appointment

Appointment Announcement – New Zealand Region

Auckland – 28 June 2013. Tourism Australia New Zealand region announces the appointment of well known industry person, Chris Ingram to the position of Partnership Manager New Zealand.

Reporting to General Manager, New Zealand, Jenny Aitken, Chris takes up the position on 01 July and replaces Amanda Hall in what is a redefined position that Jenny says “better meets the commercial and strategic needs of the region.” The Partnership Manager role is primarily responsible for the development, management and implementation of effective distribution and partnership strategies in New Zealand.

Jenny describes the two key areas that Chris will manage as being distribution partnerships, stakeholder relations and in delivering consumer strategies and plans. The second area is the Business Events area, where Chris will be charged with increasing the conversion of meetings, conference and incentives into Australia.

Chris brings to Tourism Australia an extensive background in the tourism sector with previous sales and marketing positions including those with AAT Kings, Cook Islands Tourism and most recently the New Zealand office of Gold Coast Tourism.

Jenny says “Chris will bring to Tourism Australia his extensive experience in our industry as well as specific skills in creating winning partnerships, excellent stakeholder relations and a commercial acumen that will be a great asset in growing the business events.”
