Taiwan Agreement Excellent News for New Zealand Economy
The New Zealand Chambers of Commerce (NZCCI) has welcomed the conclusion of an Economic Cooperation Agreement between New Zealand and Taiwan announced today.
“A Economic Cooperation Agreement with Taiwan has been a high priority for us for many years and we are pleased that this agreement has been reached,” said Michael Barnett, Auckland Chamber Chief Executive and NZCCI Director.
“This is a high quality comprehensive agreement and it is excellent news for exporters and the economy as a whole.
“Taiwan is an important market for New Zealand exports and a significant source of investment, visitors and migrants to New Zealand. There is huge potential to grow the relationship further and the Economic Cooperation Agreement will be a valuable platform to do so.
“I would like to congratulate Trade Minister Tim Groser for his leadership on the successful outcome of this negotiation,” Mr Barnett concluded.
