Online Courses Earn Kiwi Tradespeople CPD Points

Keen tradespeople can now upskill free of charge with the launch of two new professional development training courses by leading appliance solutions company Rinnai.

Rinnai has been accredited six Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for its iHeat Specifying training course and 11 points for its Installation and Commissioning course by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB).

The free online courses accessible at www.rinnaitraining.co.nz will teach trades people how to install Rinnai’s new central heating product iHeat®, which allows consumers a full gas-fired ducted central heating system utilising the power of the Rinnai INFINITY® gas water heater engine to both heat – and supply – hot water.

Rinnai’s Training Manager – Mark Dobson says the new courses reflect the company’s commitment to support and up skill Kiwi trades people.

“They are core to our Rinnai business at a service level, and so we are pleased to be able to provide them with this free online training. The online courses are not just designed to assist with installation of our products but to broaden their skill base and provide a platform for us to also share some of our in-house expertise,” he says.

“With online based learning, the trades person can continue working in the industry while they attain further professional development in their own time online. Keeping their training up to speed is a good investment for not only them, but us too.

Rinnai’s courses have been so popular that we’ve issued 4148 PGDB CPD points in the last six months, which already exceeds the total for all of last year Dobson says.

“The courses are designed to ensure the highest quality installs which will help improve business profitability for the trade in terms of less install repairs, a great customer experience with the Rinnai brand and increased customer satisfaction leading to increased word of mouth,” says Rinnai’s National Marketing Manager; Kathryn Geck.

In line with increasing the online training course offering Rinnai brings to the trade industry and its customers, the company has recently acquired electric hot water cylinder business HJ Cooper, and is working through a roll out of a re-brand of this electric hot water cylinder range re-named HJ Cooper by Rinnai to recognise the improved after sales support Rinnai has been well recognised for by the trade.

Geck says this acquisition was part of Rinnai’s growth strategy, allowing the company to provide water solutions across energy sources and delivering a much wider range of electric hot water cylinder solutions, providing tradespeople and consumers alike with the most effective and efficient Rinnai water heating solution.

Rinnai’s two new courses will add to its popular Energy Efficiency Course, which allows a tradesperson the opportunity to earn 13 CPD points.
