PlaceMakers Goes Fourth In Christchurch

PlaceMakers Goes Fourth In Christchurch

As the rebuild continues to pick up pace, PlaceMakers’ last Thursday celebrated its on-going commitment to the Christchurch building sector, officially opening its new 2,745 square-metre purpose-built store at Glassworks Industry Park in Hornby.

In a modern twist to traditional ribbon cutting, Christchurch East MP Lianne Dalziel and PlaceMakers Acting CEO Vaughan Grant marked the milestone by driving a PlaceMakers ute through a large piece of GIB board.

Ms Dalziel and well-known television personality Gary McCormick then addressed the crowd who had gathered to celebrate PlaceMakers expanding its Christchurch network to four stores.

PlaceMakers Hornby Branch Operator, Steve Brown, said “Opening a new store in Hornby is a significant investment locally for PlaceMakers.

“With a total of four Christchurch stores, PlaceMakers is well-placed to respond to the needs of the local building industry as the rebuild ramps up, with more products at convenient locations for customers.”

The store opened for business in June, with more than 15 new staff taking on administration and front-line roles.

PlaceMakers Hornby features an extensive trade store, a drive-through warehouse and timber yard, and will work alongside existing Christchurch PlaceMakers stores on Antigua Street, Cranford Street and in Riccarton.
