New CEO and Chair named for infrastructure ITO A new Chief Executive has been announced to lead the infrastructure Industry Training Organisation being created with the merging of existing ITOs InfraTrain New Zealand and ESITO(Electricity Supply Training Organisation).
He is Helmut Modlik, who comes to the expanded organisation following his role as Chief Executive of Telco Technology Services.
The announcement has been made by Frances Hague who has been appointed to chair the board of the organisation. Frances has been on the board of ESITO and also chaired the merger committee that was created to establish the Infrastructure ITO.
“We are pleased with what we have achieved in the early stages of the merger and the appointment of such a high calibre CEO is extremely important. Helmut’s background includes experience in the health, information technology, education and the telecommunications sectors,” says Frances Hague.
All regulatory conditions to allow the formation of the ITO have been met, which will allow the Infrastructure ITOto be formally established on 1October 2013 with Helmut Modlik taking up the CEO role later in the month.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead this organisation and am feeling a mixture of excitement and responsibility. Ensuring that the infrastructure industry has the trained people it needs to contribute to the prosperity of the country is extremely important. I am looking forward to working with all the staff from the merged organisations as well as our industry partners to make sure our goals are achieved,” says Mr Modlik.
