One Plan ruling gives certainty
MEDIA STATEMENT FROM TARARUA GROWERS ASSOCIATION
27 September
2013
For more than a year the Tararua
Growers Association has sought a workable interpretation of
the Horizons One Plan and this week we are pleased to say
the process is finally over, says growers’ Chairman Terry
Olsen.
“Our growers confidence has been boosted by the High Court codification this week which has now given us certainty about our business activities and certainty about how we can approach the One Plan,” he says. “We are now confident growers can work through the challenges of the of plan and we will work with the Horizons Council, ensuring the best outcome for the industry and for the region.”
“It has been a long, hard battle,” says Terry Olsen. “It has been a challenge but it’s been worth it. We now have a rational interpretation of this plan codified in the law thanks to the High Court. We believe Growers it's a version we can work with.”
