Little Empire Launches New Seasonal Craft Beers

New brews of Battler Pale Ale, Beekeeper Lager, Pearse's Pilsener, now on tap at The Crown

Auckland, Aotearoa - Little Empire Brewery & Eating House welcomes three new seasonal beers - Battler Pale Ale, Beekeeper Lager, Pearse's Pilsener - to its family of craft beers. Each beer was lovingly brewed on-site at The Crown’s micro-brewery and is now available on tap exclusively at The Crown.

Specially created to suit the longer, warmer evenings, the three new craft brews are packed full of flavour and authenticity.

Part owner, Simon Ansley, says, “Little Empire cultivates a natural hands-on approach to brewing and the team, led by Chief Brewer Laura Smith, was focussed on experimenting with different flavour profiles that will excite beer aficionados while still remaining accessible.”

“The level of craftsmanship involved in producing each brew, combined with high quality, local ingredients is reflected in the final flavour profiles of the three brews.”

The Battler Pale Ale is a pleasingly aromatic beer with refined bitterness and a touch of chocolate malt. Best enjoyed alongside a bowl of chilli calamari.

Its sibling, the golden coloured Beekeeper Lager, has a spicy, floral aroma courtesy of Pacifica hops and a silky smooth aftertaste from the Hawkes Bay Arataki Amber Honey. A joy to imbibe especially when paired with pork spare ribs with a smoked ancho chili, hoisin and ginger sauce. With an approachable 4.9 per cent alcohol by volume, Pearse's Pilsener is an after work beverage. Team this with tempera market fish, lime and caper sliders to bring out the fresh green hop flavour.

Tasting Notes
Little Empire 'Battler Pale Ale' - 5.2% A Kiwi Pale Ale made with Fuggles, Saaz and Motueka Hops. A pleasingly aromatic pale ale with refined bitterness. Made with following malts Marris Otter, Munich and a touch of chocolate malt. Little Empire 'Beekeeper Lager' - 5.6% A golden lager made from pale malt, late hopped with Pacifica hops to give a spicy floral aroma and has a silky smooth aftertaste from the Hawkes Bay Arataki Amber Honey. Sweetness and bitterness are well balanced. Little Empire 'Pearse's Pilsener' - 4.9%Pilsener malt for a light golden colour and sweet malty background, balanced with bitterness and fresh green hop flavour and aroma from NZ's own Green bullet hops.
