Elderly Now Have Access To Easy Feeding Doidy Cup

Press Release from Doidy Cup NZ

Elderly Now Have Access To Easy Feeding Doidy Cup

The elderly are now able to access the Doidy Cup – a universal easy feeding cup.

Originally designed as a training cup to teach babies to drink from a rim not a spout, the Doidy Cup has found a place in the aged care sector. It’s unique sloped design allows the user to see the contents of their cup without requiring any upwards or downwards head movements. It is also easy for caregivers or health assistants to assist an individual to drink as they too can see the contents, yet the person drinking remains in control as due to the rim, liquid is not forced into their mouth.

The unique sloped design also allows the user to pick up and put the Doidy Cup down smoothly without spilling the contents. The two adjustable handles are easy to hold and the curved rim directs liquid to the centre of the mouth, reducing any spillage. The attractive range of colours includes red, which is known to encourage dementia sufferers to drink more liquid when using a red cup due to the high contrast colours. The bright colours also make using the Doidy Cup easier for the partially sighted. The darker colours allow any dissolved medication residue to be shown against the sides of the cup, to check if the medication has been consumed or not.

The Doidy Cup does not contain any small parts, making it easy to clean and more hygienic than sippy cups. It is dishwasher safe (top shelf), freezer safe and can be sterilised.
