TAGH is the commercial arm of Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa Trust (“TPT").
TAGH Chairman Wallace Haumaha said the board was delighted to secure the services of someone of the calibre and experience of Ian Boyd.
Mr Boyd has held senior management and leadership positions in Fletcher Challenge Forests, Wrightson Limited and Zespri. He is also a past chair of Tarawera Forests, past CEO of the Forest Industries Training and Education and a board member of the Tertiary Education Commission.
“Ian Boyd has had an extensive and successful management career and has the skills and experience which will compliment the assets TAGH administer on behalf of its shareholders. In addition, he has the ability to achieve the growth strategy set by the TAGH board,” Mr Haumaha said.
Mr Boyd said he was honoured to be taking up the role of CEO for Te Arawa Group Holdings Ltd.
“I have been fortunate to work extensively in the primary sector, especially in forestry and agribusiness sectors and to have spent much of my career in the Bay of Plenty. This will enable me to help build on the exciting growth that TAGH has already achieved,” Mr Boyd said.
Wallace Haumaha said Ian Boyd’s appointment was timely and he expected him to settle quickly into the role. The announcement to TPT, of Mr. Boyd’s appointment, has been met with overwhelming approval.
