5-Star Ford Ranger romps to number one position for October

Not all utes are created equal

5-Star Ford Ranger romps to number one position for October

Auckland, 4 November 2013 – The popularity of utes, in particular the Ford Ranger, amongst Kiwis continues to grow with an impressive number of Rangers bought in October. According to provisional numbers for the month, the Ford Ranger was the most popular ute for the month with 497 Rangers sold, beating its nearest competitor by 84 vehicles.

“There is quite a lot to like about the Ford Ranger but in general Kiwis are finding the Ranger to be the ultimate multi-tasker, serving as a very capable workhorse at the job site yet a comfortable and safe vehicle for the family on evenings, the weekend or holiday road trips,” said Corey Holter, Managing Director Ford New Zealand. “With the family spending more time in the ‘work’ vehicle, it’s now more important that the vehicle is safe; and there is no safer ute than the Ford Ranger.

“In fact, of the top five utes in the New Zealand, it’s the only one to have a 5 Star Euro NCAP and 5 Star ANCAP safety rating across the entire New Zealand range, including the segment’s most popular variant - the double cab,” added Holter. “Our customers don’t want to settle for less, especially when it comes to safety.”

Designed and engineered in Australia, the Ford Ranger has won multiple Car and 4WD of the Year awards and was first ute to be awarded a 5 Star Euro NCAP safety rating, which was followed by a 5 Star ANCAP safety rating.

“The most remarkable result… is the Ford Ranger, the first pickup to achieve a five star rating, with impressive scores in all areas of Euro NCAP’s assessments.” Source: www.EuroNCAP.com
