Philips Lighting appoints new General Manager for Australia & New Zealand business

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) has announced the appointment of Rob Fletcher as General Manager (GM) of Philips Lighting ANZ, effective immediately.

Mr Fletcher will focus on the continued growth of Philips LED in the region, to ensure Philips LED continues to set the standard in innovative lighting solutions for the Australian and New Zealand home, business and infrastructure sectors.

An Australian national, Mr Fletcher graduated from Curtin University of Technology in Perth before joining Philips in Japan in 1983. Over a 30-year career with Philips, Mr Fletcher has held a number of senior management roles across the APAC region, including Asia Pacific VP Marketing & Sales at Philips Semiconductor – Taipei, GM Lighting Japan and GM Domestic Appliances and Personal Care at Philips Taiwan. Most recently, Mr Fletcher was Philips’ Country Manager for Indonesia, based in Jakarta.

Reporting to Philips Electronics ANZ Managing Director Alan McCarthy, Fletcher is responsible for the Philips Lighting business in Australia and New Zealand, which includes responsibility for the Dynalite lighting controls business acquired by Philips in 2009.

Fletcher succeeds Michael Downie who decided to leave Philips recently to pursue interests outside of the company.
