Student couple get ‘inked’ to win AJ Hackett Bungy’s Ultimate Queenstown Getaway

Kiwi couple Toni Love and Joshua Hemara were today announced as the winners of AJ Hackett Bungy’s ‘Ultimate Queenstown Getaway’ competition and will have a permanent memento of their trip.

The couple are being flown to Queenstown this Saturday 9 November after their blog entry was picked out by AJ Hackett Bungy co-founder Henry van Asch as being the “craziest and best entry by far”.

Ms Love submitted her winning blog outlining the couple would get matching AJ Hackett Bungy tattoos to win the trip.

Ms Love was inspired to enter by her sister, who lives in Queenstown and has just recently had a baby. The trip also coincides with the couple’s three year anniversary.

“We’re both Uni students so we can’t afford to visit my sister, let alone have an awesome holiday,” said Ms Love.

Toni, who is currently in Auckland studying for her Bachelor of Arts exam tomorrow, said she was “stoked” with the announcement and a “little bit nervous”.

“I have bungy jumped at The Ledge in Queenstown before. I was so nervous I nearly pulled the guy down with me,” she said.

“I’m terrified of heights, but the guys were great and I was so stoked I did it, I can’t wait to do it again.”

The exact size and location of the couple’s tattoos is still “up for negotiation” but the pair is true to their word and will be tattooed this Friday in Auckland before flying to Queenstown.

“I didn’t think we’d actually win. I can’t believe I convinced Josh to get matching tattoos, but I’m so excited,” Ms Love said.

The couple’s competition prize includes return flights to Queenstown, courtesy of grabaseat, four nights’ accommodation in a Lakeview room at the Crowne Plaza, the opportunity to experience all AJ Hackett Bungy Queenstown’s activities including the Kawarau Bridge Bungy, Kawarau Zipride, Ledge Bungy, Ledge Swing, Nevis Bungy and Nevis Swing, one hour of power on a Jet boat ride with KJet, a ride up the Skyline Gondola, coupled with luge rides at the top of the hill, Go-Karting at Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell, dinner at Fergburger and a night on the town with the Big Night Out Pub Crawl .

Toni and Josh will also attend the ‘not-to-be-missed’, invite-only VIP AJ Hackett Bungy 25th Birthday party on November 12 2013.
