Investing In Your Vision
Auckland’s newest optometry practice, Campuspecs has recognised an increased requirement for employer education in workplace eye care.
Research cited by the American Optometric Association found that even a minor miscorrection increased the time to complete tasks by 9% and errors by 40%. Research by the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors found that spending 4 hours or more in front of a computer requires specialist occupational lenses; with 63% of spectacle wearers unhappy with their lenses because of unclear vision.
Campuspecs employees have a combined thirteen years of experience in dispensing occupational lenses. During this time they have determined that specialised occupational lenses are best for the office environment, providing clear and comfortable vision for near and computer work, offering a complementary alternative to progressive lenses and single vision lenses in the workplace environment. A study has shown that 7 out of 10 computer-related symptoms were relieved after use of occupational lenses. Campuspecs carries an extensive range of eyewear, believing that anti-reflective coatings are essential to lens performance, and therefore including this feature on all dispensed lenses. The utilisation of the very latest lens design, freeform technology, ensure higher edge-to-edge clarity compared with older lens designs.
Business development manager Mr Stu Allan says, “Campuspecs are excited to launch in Auckland CBD with an emphasis in workplace eye care. To offer professionals in Auckland greater accessibility and first-rate eye care, Campuspecs offers a tailored Workplace Eye Care Programme offering significant savings for employer and employee alike.” He continues, “We believe the services Campuspecs provides, together with the products carried, will ensure a real difference can be made in the realm of work place eye care, reducing absenteeism and maximising staff productivity”.
Campuspecs opens at X-GALLERY, Cnr of Wellesley & Lorne St
