A Student’s Point of View

November 25, 2013

A Student’s Point of View.

With 80% of learning coming via the sense of sight, Auckland’s newest optometry practice has chosen to focus on an all important market sector. Campuspecs, becomes the first practice in New Zealand with a primary objective to offer services and products for students, committing to aid these clients through maximising their ability to learn.

Campuspecs has carefully considered its positioning in the chosen market place. Offering an enjoyable environment that caters to the student lifestyle, much thought has gone into creating a contemporary practice space, with three young industry professionals selected to work within it. A location that is a short walk from both the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology, extended opening hours and generous student discounts will ensure greater accessibility to first rate eye care for Auckland’s burgeoning student population.

Campuspecs offers more than the right environment for its prospective clients, it utilises the NIDEK Optical Path Difference Scanning System, which is a five-in-one system using state-of-the-art imaging and analysis technology specifically to measure all types of eyes - from normal, to those with higher order aberrations. Whilst New Zealand ophthalmologists have used this technology for many years, Campuspecs demonstrates its innovative approach by becoming the first practice to use it in an optometric setting.

Campuspecs has kept its demographic in mind when sourcing its extensive range of eyewear. Managing Dispensing Optician, Ms Bernice Reddy has hand-selected all of the spectacle frames available in practice, “I am extremely pleased to be able to bring these new brands to New Zealand, and am excited about presenting the collections we have sourced.” She continues, “Our clients can expect to see diverse colours, new materials and trendy styles.”

Mr Carl Ewen, Student Life Manager at Auckland Student Movement at AUT (AuSM), says, “We’re always pleased when local businesses recognise the specific needs of our members, so we look forward to working with Campuspecs, who have also generously allied themselves with the AUT Student Hardship Fund.”
