Westfield Wrapped to Support Charities
Westfield Wrapped to Support Charities
This Christmas season Westfield 277 Newmarket is donating all gold coin donations from their free gift wrapping service to Starship, New Zealand’s leading children’s hospital.
Sarah Woodhams, Community Fundraising Manager of the Starship Foundation says; “The Starship Foundation is very grateful to benefit from the Gold Coin Gift Wrapping donations at 277 this festive season. All money raised will go towards purchasing a high performance fetal heart monitor. This sophisticated new monitor, which has built-in computerised data to support the clinician’s assessment, will help accurately monitor the wellbeing of the fetus and the mother.”
For an eighth year, Westfield’s gift wrapping service will be offered for free at all nine centres however shoppers are invited to donate their spare change to a charity within the centre’s local community.
Seven charities throughout New Zealand will benefit from Westfield’s Christmas fundraising initiative including KidsCan, Wairau Valley Special School, Ronald McDonald House South Island, the John Walker Find your Field of Dreams Swim Project, the Starship Foundation, True Colours and the Blockhouse Bay Lions Club - Royal NZ Foundation for the Blind Children’s Department.
The Westfield free gift wrapping fundraising project has raised close to $400,000 for the various New Zealand charities since Westfield first introduced the gold coin donation for this service eight years ago.
Westfield 277 Newmarket’s free gift wrapping service runs from Thursday 12th December until the centre closes for Christmas on Tuesday 24th December.
