Kieran Read is Perfect Fit for Christchurch’s Benchmark Homes

Christchurch, 27 Nov, 2013: Richard and Natasha Evans, owners and directors of Benchmark Homes, are pleased to announce that New Zealand rugby great, Kieran Read, will be the new ambassador for their Christchurch-based home building company until at least 2016.

Kieran Read exemplifies true leadership and outstanding team player qualities, a perfect fit for the local award-winning home builders who place great importance on integrity and family values.

As a family man, Kieran (father of 2 pre-school children) was keen to work with a company that had a genuine family focus, and his wife Bridget agrees that this was hugely important to them. From the start, they appreciated the values and overall ethos at Benchmark Homes, which were similar to their own personal values.

“We like the fact that Richard and Natasha have a large family, so they know what it’s like for us as parents, and the obligations we personally have to our family,” shares Bridget. “We were impressed that even their office was set up to be child-friendly, so working with Benchmark Homes has been a very relaxing process.”

Investing in youth sporting development is another area of interest shared by the two parties. While many New Zealanders know Kieran Read the athlete, few know that he is studying toward a degree in sports coaching, with a goal of working with young people in his career, post rugby. “Kieran has the same passion we do to help young New Zealand athletes succeed in their sport,” says Natasha.

Regarding their decision to join the Benchmark team, Kieran comments, “It was really a combination of those family values and the way Benchmark Homes genuinely contribute to youth development that impressed me most. It just felt like the right fit for me, and for us as a family.”
