McKays to Peka Peka start welcomed
Business Central welcomes the start today of work on the McKays to Peka Peka section of the Wellington Northern Corridor Road of National Significance.
CEO Raewyn Bleakley said it was the next step on the way to a more reliable major route connecting the lower North Island with Wellington’s port and airport.
“When it’s completed and links in with Transmission Gully it will provide a huge boost for the region’s economy.
“It will mean getting goods to the port and the airport will be more reliable and faster, and as such it will create and support economic growth and improve productivity.
“This is a vital piece of infrastructure for the region going into the future.”
