The Warehouse Group Limited to Acquire Schooltex Brand
The Warehouse Group (TW Group), New Zealand’s largest listed retailer with leading retail brands including The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo7, has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire the Schooltex school uniform brand and stock from Postie Plus Group.
Schooltex is New Zealand’s leading school uniform brand supplying over 1,100 schools with their uniform and sportswear needs. TW Group Chief Executive, Mark Powell said that the Schooltex brand will strengthen The Warehouse’s position in the school uniform market.
“Acquiring the Schooltex brand will allow us to provide families with more choice for their back to school needs,” said Mr Powell.
“We see the Schooltex uniform brand complementing The Warehouse’s existing school apparel and back to school product range,” said Mr Powell.
“It also aligns well with work that we are doing across TW Group to support schools and education from a community perspective.”
Schools will be contacted throughout January and February so that they can communicate with parents to let them know which The Warehouse store uniforms can be purchased at from the end of February.
The acquisition will see six Schooltex support office and regional staff employed by The Warehouse at the end of February.
