Top New Zealand Health and Wellness Company Celebrates Over 25 Years in the Business

May 20, 2014 - Christchurch, New Zealand – One of New Zealand’s top health and wellness companies has recently passed an important business milestone. New Zealand Health Food Company is currently celebrating over 25 years in business since the company’s initial founding back on the 16th March 1988.

The company itself is notable within the industry for bringing many of New Zealand’s most beneficial products and ingredients to both local and international markets. In fact, when founder and company CEO Rob Haines first conceptualized New Zealand Health Food Company, it was out of a strong desire to do exactly that.

“In the early days, established national and international brands asked me to supply them with quality ingredients for their own production,” says Haines. “As some of these ingredients grew in popularity, and spurred on by my customers’ success, I developed our own retail brands; ‘NZHF’ and ‘Kiwi Natural Health’ in the mid 1990’s.”

Later on in 2008, the signature brands KNH and Dr. Bee would also hit the market and the rest is history. Since the 1990’s, Haines’s signature brands have continued to grow in popularity as the worldwide consumer demand for all-natural, organic foods and wellness options continues to increase.

New Zealand Health Food Company was founded at exactly the right time to take advantage of the trend right when it was hitting its peak by introducing the entire global market to the best wellness products New Zealand has to offer. In its early days, the company was a brick and mortar retail business only. However, an engaging and informative e-commerce website has also been established in order to meet the growing demand for the products. Together, the two have combined to form a single entity that continues to grow, expand, and improve as its customer base grows worldwide.

Family Owned and Run Since Day One

Another major factor that has helped make New Zealand Health Food Company into the respected, trusted retailer it is today is the fact that it’s been family owned and operated since its first day in business. For instance, founder Rob Haines’s very own mother was intimately involved with the operations side of the business for many years until her retirement at age 82.

Haines’s children are also currently involved with the company. Rob’s daughter, Ellie, works in office administration while his son, Sam works in the sales department. Each of them is in the process of learning everything about how the company is run and how signature products are developed so that the high standard already set in place can be continued into the future.

Haines also has a second daughter, Selina who works in production while her husband, Doug is the company’s operations manager.

High Standards and Old-Fashioned Values

Retailers like New Zealand Health Food Company are part of a growing movement that calls for a return to old-fashioned family values, a focus on exceptional customer service, and a priority on nothing but the best quality products.

The company currently offers an extensive and perpetually growing line of natural, wholesome supplements and products for men, women, and children alike. Each of these products is developed in full cooperation with the New Zealand Food Safety Authority’s highest standards.

Great care is taken to see to it that only the finest ingredients are used and that consistent quality is maintained across the board. Potential biological, physical, or chemical hazards are managed via a strict risk management system. Numerous checks and balances are also in place to maintain the quality of not only the products, but the level of service consumers and partners alike can expect to receive.

This painstaking level of care and consideration is what the Haines family credits for the exceedingly loyal customer base New Zealand Health Food Company has built since it was first founded over 25 years ago.

What’s Next For One Of New Zealand’s Fastest Growing Wellness Companies?

According to Rob Haines, the company’s impressive catalogue when it comes to supplements, whole foods, skin care products, and more is only the beginning. As the world continues to demand all-natural solutions to an expanding variety of needs, New Zealand Health Food Company has plans to help fill them to the highest degree possible. Consumers and partners alike can expect the development of new products to continue perpetually while the current standard of excellence is maintained.
