Fashion created to change moods and release serotonin

Fashion created to change moods and release serotonin.

69% of Kiwi women admit to wearing an all black ensemble five to seven times a week [http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10751434]. Inspired by the power of colour, fashion retailer Postie invites Kiwi women to take on the 5 Days of Colour Challenge from 8th – 12th October and experience scientifically proven mood-boosting benefits, linked to wearing colour.

Women are challenged to dig deep into those corners of their closets that brim with bright hues and dress in nothing but colour for five days. Studies show that wearing bright, vibrant colours can literally boost moods making people feel more emotionally positive, confident, creative and happier. To encourage community support and share their new-found love of colour, Postie has launched the 5 Days of Colour app, inviting women to share their full-coloured outfits with the online community and help inspire and motivate others.

Postie’s 5 Days of Colour Challenge is about inspiring Kiwi women to make a powerful, positive change in their lives with something as simple as a small wardrobe switch.

Throughout the week, Postie will be enlightening Kiwis on the powerful effects different colours can have on your mood. For example, yellow has been found to trigger the release of the feel-good brain chemical serotonin. Wearing red is an instant confidence booster whereas blue can make you feel more tranquil, serene and in touch with your inner zen [http://www.boemagazine.com/2014/03/5-reasons-you-should-wear-more-red/].
