Outward Bound Appoints New President And Chairman of the Board
The board of directors of the Outward Bound
Trust of New Zealand is pleased to announce Andrew Smith has
been appointed President and Chairman of the Board,
replacing outgoing Chair, Bruce Cardwell.
An Outward Bound alumni, Andrew has been a board director since 2008 and in 2011 he joined the board of Outward Bound International.
Andrew was formerly a founding partner of New Zealand’s largest glass company, Metropolitan Glass, principally responsible for finance and administration of eight branches and over 500 employees. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Smith and Smith Ltd, a family business.
Auckland-based, Andrew is a trustee of Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital, the Museum Circle in Auckland and the Auckland Art Gallery Foundation.
Says Andrew: “It’s a really exciting time to be at the helm of the Outward Bound board. I believe we have strength around our board table, each member bringing valuable experience, perspective and drive to contribute to Outward Bound’s vision for New Zealanders to reach their full potential through education and challenge in the outdoors.”
