Smartrak’s purpose is to ‘create a world where distance doesn’t matter’ and chief operating officer Bryce Herbert said the birth of the role was prompted by the company’s “tremendous growth” over the past few years.

“It’s important to us that we have strong leadership to move our company into its next phase of growth and development, delivering geospatial solutions that add value to our customers and their customers.

“We believe Mr Betham’s proven strategic and leadership abilities make him a perfect fit for this new management position.”

Mr Betham brings to Smartrak 17 years of experience with Gallagher Security, where he maintained a position on the executive leadership team and led the global product management and business analyst teams.

His key areas of expertise include business-led product strategy, research and development strategic direction, and commercial strategy, key qualities in achieving of the group’s objectives.

Eight years following its inception, the company has over 400 customers, including more than half the country's councils, and is looking at revenue growth of 250 percent in the next two years.

“As we continue to grow, we look forward to bringing in new people, new ideas, and new skills, so we can maintain our single-minded focus on providing the very best in geospatial business intelligence solutions,” Mr Herbert said.
